My Number One Man Has A BooBoo

In what the Twins mouthpieces are referring to as a minor procedure, my very favorite boyfriend Joe Mauer has undergone surgery to remove a kidney obstruction. He apparently will be all set to join spring training for pitchers and catchers next month.

Based on my research, this looks like it could potentially be a little scary, but our thoughts and prayers are with Joe during his recovery time... as if my thoughts ever lie anywhere else.

Boogie's Favorite Boyfriend Has A Boo-Boo

My poor baby, Knicks F David Lee, fell during Wednesday night's game against the Nets and bruised his lower back. He's listed as questionable for Saturday's game in Sacramento. Hopefully he'll be back in action soon because I need the fantasy points! D, if you need me to nurse you back to health, just say the word :)

HA!

Defending Champs Already Facing Problems

Photobucket

It was announced today that Philadelphia Phillie Chase Utley will be undergoing hip surgery that could possibly place him on the DL until June. With one of their core stars out for the first two months, this does not bode well for the '08 Champs.

There has been speculation that the Phils may try to obtain Minnesota Twin free agent Nick Punto in the interim. It looks doubtful that they will go after any kind of high profile second baseman as the new acquirement will most likely ride the pine once Utley returns to his little league park.

Kobe pulls a Brady?

The Los Angeles sports community is collectively holding its breath today as the news of Kobe Bryant's injury spreads. Kobe hyperextended his right knee in the second quarter of Tuesday's preseason game vs. the Charlotte Bobcats. He limped off the court and didn't come back out for the second half, nor did he speak to reporters after the Lakers won 102-98. Kobe will be re-examined today to determine the full extent of the injury .

Maybe this is mean, but I would be amused if Kobe needed surgery and was out for most or all of the season. It would be a pretty interesting year in the NBA if the Los Angeles Lakers were taken out of the equation. It would really shake up the league, in my opinion. I'd love to see a couple wayward teams step it up and make a run for it while the Lakers were essentially neutralized. Does that make me a bitch? Oh well...

Go ahead Kobe, do your best Tom Brady impression for me :) Pretty please?

Bye Bye Brady

Holy Moly! Tom Brady is out for the season with a serious knee injury. He's torn both his ACL and MCL and must undergo surgery and months of rehab to get back on top.

I dislike Tom Brady...I dislike him a lot. HOWEVER, I'm not happy about this injury. I was really curious to see how he and the rest of the Patriots would bounce back this season from that devastating (and beautiful!) upset in Superbowl XLII. How the team is in the hands of Matt Cassel, who has big shoes to fill indeed.

Now that the entire NFL world has been shaken up sufficiently, the question is this:

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

I am SO ready! Week 1 was awesome, and I can't even wait until next Sunday. I'm gonna drop by on Mama Stars so we can watch her boyfriend Brett Favre take it to the house against the Brady-less Patriots. As my Mass-hole friends would say, I'm wicked excited!

Now I have to do some plotting. My biggest Fantasy Football competition has been crippled - no pun intended - and I intend to take FULL ADVANTAGE. Fantasy Football reports from Stars and I to come very soon!
