World's Most Beautiful Couple Engaged

In the same vein of discovering an old actor you thought died long ago has actually passed away, Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen get engaged.

Tom popped the question aboard a private plane covered with roses while his parents were reportedly aboard. Weird, but nothing but the best for the couple! Our thoughts are with Bridget Moynahan today.

Should The Patriots Trade Tom Brady?

Pick your jaw up off the floor. It's a valid question. Let's think about it...

Matt Cassell has stepped in and led the team to a record of 7-4. The Patriots have a favorable schedule down the stretch, and it is entirely possible they could go on a tear and win the final five games in a row. If they don't take the division out from under the Jets, they have a serious shot at the Wild Card. If even a couple of those things fall into place, its going to be very difficult for the Patriots organization to not to reward Cassel handsomely with a HUGE contract and starting QB position for the 2010 season and beyond.

That's right, I said it.

I'm sure the Patriots are at least discussing the option of trading their injured superstar quarterback, Tom Brady. It may be in the best interest of the team to see what they can get for Brady now. The fact is Matt Cassell will be someone's starting quarterback next year. Will it be for the Patriots? He is a free agent at the end of this season, and his stock has gone WAY up. After two 400 yard games in a row, Cassell has definitely caught the attention of the NFL owners. With so many teams doing the QB shuffle, a 26 year-old with a fresh and accurate arm who has understudied the best QB in the game for three years is a god-send. The Patriots would be compensated handsomely in a Tom Brady trade. They could get a couple of big name position players, filling holes on on offense or defense. If the Patriots allow Cassell to leave as a free agent, they get squat. It's all very similar to the move the Patriots made in 2001 when Tom Brady took over for Drew Bledsoe.

Now, the question is can Matt Cassell be as good as Tom Brady? Well the talent and potential are obviously there. Now lets see what the stats tell us.

Over Tom Brady's first 15 games in 2001 he had 413 attempts, 264 completions for 2,843 yards with 18 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while being sacked 41 times.

Over Matt Cassel's first 11 games this year he has 359 attempts, 238 completions for 2,615 yards with 13 touchdowns and 8 interceptions while being sacked 34 times.

We'll be able to make a more direct comparison during week 15, but these numbers are comparable and its already clear that Cassel matches up after only 11 weeks as a starter.

Take whichever side you want, but all I'm saying is if the Pats decide to make Brady's comeback someone else's problem - I wouldn't be upset...or surprised.

Thoughts??

Get Inside Tom Brady's Locker

The Boston Herald has posted a picture of Tom Brady's locker now that he's back in town. The funny thing is, is that for a hometown newspaper you'd think they'd be a lot nicer to the guy known as the 'Golden Boy of the NFL'.
All of the things the article in the Herald point out to make you laugh just aren't funny:

  • Neatly Arranged Clothes - If I had a wardrobe like his I'd treat my clothes better too
  • Deodorant - Umm...doesn't everyone wear deodorant?
  • Mirror - I'm not even as good looking as TB but I love looking at myself, why shouldn't he?

He's Back!

Tom Brady is back in New England. Maybe not playing football right now, but he's back at Gillette Stadium rehabbing his knee after he had season ending knee surgery.

Brady had two operations on his knee, one to repair a torn ACL and one to clear out an infection in the knee after the initial surgery.

Kobe pulls a Brady?

The Los Angeles sports community is collectively holding its breath today as the news of Kobe Bryant's injury spreads. Kobe hyperextended his right knee in the second quarter of Tuesday's preseason game vs. the Charlotte Bobcats. He limped off the court and didn't come back out for the second half, nor did he speak to reporters after the Lakers won 102-98. Kobe will be re-examined today to determine the full extent of the injury .

Maybe this is mean, but I would be amused if Kobe needed surgery and was out for most or all of the season. It would be a pretty interesting year in the NBA if the Los Angeles Lakers were taken out of the equation. It would really shake up the league, in my opinion. I'd love to see a couple wayward teams step it up and make a run for it while the Lakers were essentially neutralized. Does that make me a bitch? Oh well...

Go ahead Kobe, do your best Tom Brady impression for me :) Pretty please?

Brady Passes on Calvin Klein

Since he's done for the season with a knee injury, Tom Brady has been spending time with his son John Edward (who is called Jack). However, what you ladies will find interesting is that while he's ok with his supermodel girlfriend posing in underwear, he isn't going to be doing it anytime soon. Brady was in talks with Calvin Klein, but nothing ever came of it.

It Really Must Hurt To Look This Good

Why is it that arguably the sexiest QBs in the NFL are all banged up, out of uniform, and more importantly, out of my sight? Can't one of the fugly ones be out for the season? Jemarcus Russell, perhaps? I'm willing to sacrifice him and JT O'Sullivan. Stars thinks he looks like a molester, and I tend to agree. And you know what? If I see Peyton Manning's mug in one more commercial, I'm gonna break something. I NEED SEXY QBs! See, now I'm all flustered, and I need a little something to make myself feel better.

This should do it.

I feel better already. Luckily Tony Romo's injured pinky finger will only keep him out for a month. I don't know how much longer I can go without that adorable crooked smile of his. And those lips...rawr. Ok, I'm done. I promise...

Tom & Gisele: Getting Married?

Photobucket

Does anyone actually even care? I was formerly a big Brady girl, but much like Jeter and A-Rod, the myth of Brady's hotness has far exceeded his actual hotness.

Either way, the Chicago Sun-Times is saying the pair will be eloping soon.

::Yawn::

Bye Bye Brady

Holy Moly! Tom Brady is out for the season with a serious knee injury. He's torn both his ACL and MCL and must undergo surgery and months of rehab to get back on top.

I dislike Tom Brady...I dislike him a lot. HOWEVER, I'm not happy about this injury. I was really curious to see how he and the rest of the Patriots would bounce back this season from that devastating (and beautiful!) upset in Superbowl XLII. How the team is in the hands of Matt Cassel, who has big shoes to fill indeed.

Now that the entire NFL world has been shaken up sufficiently, the question is this:

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

I am SO ready! Week 1 was awesome, and I can't even wait until next Sunday. I'm gonna drop by on Mama Stars so we can watch her boyfriend Brett Favre take it to the house against the Brady-less Patriots. As my Mass-hole friends would say, I'm wicked excited!

Now I have to do some plotting. My biggest Fantasy Football competition has been crippled - no pun intended - and I intend to take FULL ADVANTAGE. Fantasy Football reports from Stars and I to come very soon!
