NYC ON TOP.

2008 Pro Bowl selections were announced today, and what do you know? The New York Jets lead the NFL with seven players in the Pro-Bowl including Mr. Brett Favre, who will be making his 10th Pro Bowl appearance.

The New York Football Giants will be represented by an NFC-leading six players at this year's Pro Bowl. This will be Eli Manning's first Pro Bowl, but it will be his brother Peyton's eleventh. This is the first time two brother quarterbacks will play in the same game. Check out the full NFC roster here and the AFC selections here.

I am happy to report that a Jets vs Giants match up in Superbowl XLIII is totally in the realm of possibility.

Don't hate!

Plax’s Top 10 Reasons the Gun Was at the Club

10. Oops, I forgot to take my glock out of my pants before I left the house today.

9. I usually take it with me to IHOP, and I thought we were gonna go home before hitting the club.

8. I thought it was my ‘Zach Morris’ cell phone.

7. I thought it was my gun shaped belt buckle.

6. Marvin Harrison suggested that I keep my gun in my pants instead of my car wash.

5. I was rehearsing for my role as Cheddar Plax in Eminem’s next movie.

4. Pacman put it there.

3. Just because I’m the one with the bullet hole in my leg, the gun was registered to me, and the gun allegedly fell out of my pants, doesn’t mean I was the one who brought it here.

2. I thought that gun was tucked into my other jeans.

1. I was on my way to meet Governor Palin & Dick Cheney.

Plax Update

Here's what we know so far:

Plaxico Burress showed up to a Manhattan criminal court this morning and was arraigned on two separate counts of criminal possession of a handgun in the second degree after accidentally shooting himself in the thigh Friday night at a club in Midtown. He posted bail of $100,000 and must return to court on March 31, 2009. If convicted, Plax would face a mandatory sentence of 3 ½ years in state prison, with a maximum of 15 years for on each count.

Reports are that Burress was in the VIP area of the nightclub messing with the waistline of his pants when the .40 caliber pistol accidentally discharged. Burress and his entourage, including Giants teammate Antonio Pierce, then left the club. Burress was taken to the hospital shortly thereafter and released Saturday afternoon.

Meanwhile, the gun somehow ended up in Antonio Pierce's car with the magazine missing and the chamber cleared. Pierce could also be facing charges if police discover that he hid or attempted to hide the gun.

This shit is getting deep!! Stay tuned! I'm still not sure how to process all of it. I'm just so glad no one was seriously injured. I can't even begin to wrap my head around how the Giants organization will respond. Personally, now that I know there were no critical injuries or casualties, I'm focusing on the playoffs and not much else!

Jerome Boger Sucks

Sunday afternoon, during the New York Giants’ domination of the Dallas Cowboys, Justin Tuck laid out Cowboys 3rd string quarterback Brooks Bollinger. The stadium at the Meadowlands roared, and seismologists recorded tremors around the tri-state area. The hit occurred as Bollinger was releasing the football. It was a clean, hard hit, that took Bollinger off of his feet and, while not sustaining any physical injuries, I am sure that good ‘ol Brooks was not the same quarterback for the rest of the game. That’s the way the game is played…or should be. What was unexpected and controversial was that Tuck was flagged for roughing the passer by referee Jerome Boger.

What in the hell kinda call was that? I know I have been giving the zebras a tough time this year, but get it right Boger. This is tackle football! You can not flag a defensive player for a clean tackle that you thought was too hard. This trend is growing more prolific around the league. The interest of the safety of the players is something I’m all for. You should penalize a guy going for a player’s knees, or leading with his helmet, or delivering a roundhouse kick to the throat. I don’t think Tuck’s hit could have been cleaner if Bollinger was a tackling dummy (essentially he was) and Justin lifted him off of the ground and placed him on the grass with care. This is NFL football zebras…let’s act like it. If it’s too much for you I hear there is a shortage of conceptual fairy dancing judges.

Brett Comes To Broadway

I could not believe my eyes and ears when Stars called me with the news! I turned on ESPN right away and there it was in black and white: Brett Favre traded to the New York Jets.

HOLY MOLY! It's so strange to see him in that green and white jersey! I do think this will be a great move for Brett. He can finish his illustrious career in a city that's worthy of him, and a damn good city, if I do say myself! If you can make it here, well, you know the rest. Congrats to Brett for finally making it through all this drama and finally getting a resolution that he's happy with.

All of the above was my opinion as a football fan and someone who respects the football icon that is Mr. Brett Favre. Below is my opinion as a Giants fan :)

WHAT THE HELL?!?! THIS IS BULLSHIT! The New York Giants are THE New York football team. Our city, our stadium. The Jets are coming off a total embarrassment of a season, while the Giants have claimed the greatest upset in Superbowl history. And yet, at the start of the preseason, because of this whole Favre thing, the Jets are what everyone is talking about! Frankly, I'm a little bitter. Brett Favre just walks into New York, schmoozes with the Mayor and thinks he own's the place. We Giants fans want to focus on A. what matters and B. what we do best, and that's PLAYING FOOTBALL. If the Jets want to compete for New York bragging rights, then let's do it.

It's ON Favre!

Wow, that felt good to get out. HAHA.
