Happy Birthday to Stars!

In honor of my own damn birth, all I have requested is a vote for Barack and the ability to share some gratuitous pictures of the men who make me happiest. Enjoy - I know I will!

Penguins Get Embarassed But Sid the Kid Sets Another Mark

Seems like everyone is talking about the Sharks insane victory over the Penguins at HP Pavillion, something no one saw coming.

However, Sid the Kid made the assist on the sole Pittsburgh goal. He now officially has a point against every team in the league.

We salute Sid today!

Sid the Kid Is Named One of the Most Influential Men

Photobucket

Pittsburgh Penguin star and Ladies Locker Room sweetheart Sidney Crosby has been ranked #45 on an AskMen.com poll about most influential men. The site asked readers which men had the most influence on the way they think, how they bvehave and what they buy. At 21, this is Sid's 2nd appearance on this list.

Sidney ranked above perpetually orange skinned A-Rod which just goes to show us what we already know. A-Rod is out and it is all about Sid the Kid!

And while you're at it, check out this hysterical article about just how to build Sidney's profile.

I Love the Start of Sidney Crosby Season

Photobucket

Or hockey season. Whatever. All I know is when the puck dropped today to signal the beginning of danger on ice, it meant to me another year of watching Pittsburgh Penguins star center Sidney Crosby dazzle me with his extraordinary gameplay and fantastic bone structure.

Since I know hockey tends to be the redheaded stepchild of the 4 big US sports, allow me to tell you a little about Sidney (and why you shouldn't tear your eyes off him until the ice melts.)

First, the facts. Sidney is an adorable (yes, that is a scientific fact) Canadien who was selected number one in the 2005 NHL Draft which was actually referred to as the "Sidney Crosby Sweepstakes." Crosby finished his rookie season with the Penguins' rookie record for both assists and points (previously held the great Mario Lemieux.) He was also the first NHL rookie to accumulate over 100 points and 100 penalty minutes.. which is hilarious. Last year he was named captain of the Penguins, making him the league's youngest ever team captain. At 21, he's already won the Art Ross Trophy (for points), the Hart Memorial Trophy (as MVP for the Professional Hockey Writer's Association) and the Lester B. Pearson award for MVP as determined by the NHL PLayers Association.

And if that's not enough for you, feast your eyes on this:
