This past weekend saw the Packers secure an early end to their football season and the New York Jets keep plugging away in hopes of continuing on to the post season.
Told y'all to let Brett play 'til he was damn good and ready to quit.

Speaking Of Things That Make Me Laugh

Pro Football Name of the Week
It is time, once again, to honor professional football’s athletes with fun names. This week’s recipient has been overlooked for a couple of weeks, and is the second Green Bay Packer to receive the honor. The award for the LLR name of the week goes to none other than Johnny Jolley Jr. The 320 pound mass of humanity known as the Jolley Green Bay Giant is following a familiar pattern to our names of the week. Jolley has had his legal problems, being arrested in Houston earlier this year on felony drug charges. Is it a prerequisite if you play in the NFL, and have a funny name, to be a menace to organized civilization?
Johnny was busted in Houston by the HPD. They seen him rollin’, they hated, and they caught him ridin’ dirty. How dirty? Jolley was caught with possession of over 200 grams of codeine. Jolley now faces a court mandated curfew, random drug screening, and could face even more severe repercussions for sippin’ on the sizzurp. If he is convicted and faces prison time, I doubt anyone in the slammer would mess with a 320 pound man named Jolley. Congratulations on your LLR honor Johnny Jolley Jr!

Want To Sleep In Brett Favre's Bed?
Ladies, I know he's a little older now, but even I can admit (as a totally heterosexual male) that Brett Favre is a good looking guy. I mean how else would be get a wife that hot? Oh wait...nevermind he's Brett Favre. Anyway, you can now sleep in Brett Favre's bed, kind of...
Brett is selling his football season home in Green Bay that he and his wife Deanna bought in 2005.For the complete set of pictures visit Luxist.

MVP of the Week - Brett Motherf*ckin' Favre
I previously had strayed away as I felt this Brett Favre story was being overdone. But today I decided, Brett is a goddamn legend. He is possibly the greatest QB to ever play the game and I will report on him until I am blue in the face if I feel like it. And frankly, this week (like many, MANY other weeks in his career), Brett has earned the honor of MVP of the week. Let me shed a little light on new reasons why Brett is the unparalleled king of the pigskin.
Not only is Brett a 3 time AP MVP, the wearer of a Super Bowl ring, and holder of countless NFL records, but he maintains the one characteristic most important to me in players that I love. Simply put, the man loves the game. And that warms my heart and makes me want to flip off the Packers office management and their fans.
How many people do you know that would be offered 20 MILLION DOLLARS to sit their ass at home and would turn it down, for the love of the game? If someone out there wants to give me 5 bucks, I promise not to leave the couch. But not Brett. He is the embodiment of the game.
And now that it's looking unlikely that Brett will be returning to the Pack (good riddance to them!), you can bet your bottom dollar that the Ladies of LLR will be rocking that #4 Favre jersey, no matter what color it is. Cuz it doesn't matter where the stadium is, you are always in Brett's house.

LVP of the Week
Green Bay Packers, you ought to be ashamed of yourselves. Tell me what you guys are smoking up there in Wisconsin - and then send some my way. I mean, SERIOUSLY. Please, give me a good reason why you won't move forward with Brett Favre at the helm of your team. I'm waiting...
TIME'S UP. There is NO good reason for this debacle to be taking place. In your hands you have the man that most analysts, athletes, and fans consider the best QB to EVER play the game. This is the same man who has countless NFL records and awards, lead you to a Superbowl win in '97, and brought you only one game away from the big dance just last season. WHY IS HE NOT YOUR STARTING QUARTERBACK?
I understand wanting to move forward and build for the future of your team with Aaron Rodgers, but REALLY. At this point, Aaron would be most helpful playing sponge and sucking up every piece of QB knowledge he can get until his turn comes around. The fact of the matter is, the second Brett Favre said "Hey guys, I think I want to come back" you should have said, "Yeah? We'll then we will all sit down with Aaron, get on the same page, and then let's DO THIS!" It's that simple. As your friend and mine, Ms. Stars said so eloquently, "Unless the new QB was sent straight from God to Lambeau, he should sit on the bench until Brett no longer feels like playing!"
I couldn't have put it better myself.
Anything less is just disrespectful. You don't disrespect a legend that way! When Michael Jordan came out of retirement, the Chicago Bulls didn't say "Thanks for the Three-peat, but we're gonna go ahead with Ron Harper, so we don't need you. Peace." OF COURSE NOT. They got on their knees, bowed down to His Airness and said "Thank you for blessing us with your presence on this team!" And we all know that he blessed them with ANOTHER THREE-PEAT before retiring for again. What's the lesson here, Packers? Don't look a legend gift horse in the mouth.
Come on, Green Bay! FIX THIS. It's not too late! In the meantime, you are so well deserving of this week's LVP award, its not even funny.
- boogie

On the Favre Bandwagon
OK, other than maybe the Madonna/Cynthia/A-Rod story, the "What in the Sam Hill is Brett Favre doing?" is the most talked about topic in sports right now. I have strayed away from reporting on it thus far as there isn't much to say that hasn't already been said and said 'til everyone is sick of hearing about it. However, driving to work yesterday, I had on my local rock station and they were talking about something I found hysterical. So I bring to you my two cents on the Favre soap opera.
EA Games is pissed. And more importantly, John "How many turkey legs can I put on this bird?" Madden is pissed. And I can't stop laughing. Fine, Brett. You've enraged Ted Thompson and you have created a war between the Packers and the Vikings. All of this, I can accept. But when you manage to piss off a video game, you are undeniably out of control. (And I say this with all the love in the world, because Mama Stars might disown me if I speak an ill word of Brett.)
Every year, it seems something goes wrong with the cover of the Madden game. So much so, that a large portion of the football population believes in the Madden cover curse. And believe me, it's a lot scarier than all the things that go bump in the night. Many players have seen declines in performance and injuries post receiving this "honor". He even had Michael Vick on the cover one year and I think we all know how that turned out.
So this year, Johnny Boy goes for the safe choice. Someone in retirement who has nothing to fear of injury or declining stats. Someone who won't possibly get traded so the cover remains relevant. Nothing can go wrong, right? Wrong. He's done it again. John Madden has managed to actually pull Brett Favre out of retirement so he can (most likely) face a season of injury and really tarnishing his legacy.
And they're mad at him? If I were Brett, I would be pissed at their asses. He probably has no control over his own actions since his cover debut. Poor Bretty boy.
